Vega Black

Vega Black is a queer bipoc pop artist based in Portland, OR. She got her start performing acoustic sets at local open mics and showcases every week, intently working out her singer/songwriter chops to great effect. Vega brings her lyrics to life in a way that is captivating, heartbreaking and achingly beautiful—this has been clear from the beginning. And though her sound has evolved significantly since those days, Vega’s vulnerability and raw emotional power are still on vibrant display at every show. Her music is romantic, playful, lyric driven, soulful and she wears her influences on her sleeve, particularly Britpop, Indie and R&B music, especially of the 90’s and 00’s.

With the help of producer Kinsey Dulcet, Vega released her first single “Human Girl” (with B-side “Crushing” ) to streaming in February of 2020. Fortunately, the onset of the pandemic did not keep this dynamic duo from collaborating further as they found a way to continue to work remotely and even strengthened their working relationship! Now backed by a full band riding high on passion and amazing talent, Vega’s adventures in pop craftsmanship continue with a full album in development and a live show that continues to unfold in new and exciting directions.
